Main base port of the fresh deep-sea fleet of the Bay of Biscay, with an important volume of inshore fish unloaded in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.

Deep-Sea: hake, mackerel, blue whiting, conger eel, Atlantic horse mackerel, monkfish, John Dory, pouting.
Inshore: mackerel, Atlantic horse mackerel, white tuna, sardine, anchovy.

Some of the associated companies develop their commercial activity at the port and at the MerkaOiartzun fish distribution centre.

Beautiful coastal port located between Ondarroa and Pasajes, it is one of the ports of the greatest relevance in inshore fishing on the Basque coast.
Its activity focuses on seasonal blue fish: mackerel, white tuna, and anchovy are the main catches.
